Mohegan Tribal Fire Trains in Ice and Cold-Water Rescue Equipment

On Wed., Mar. 4, 2026, the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department took advantage of fair weather and thick ice on the river to refresh all four shifts on our ice and cold-water rescue equipment. Pictured here is the shift practicing in Trading Cove off the Thames River. Our own FF/EMT Robert Shields is a certified instructor in all things water and is leading this effort.
