Mohegan Tribal Fire Provides Mutual Aid to House Fire in Montville

On Mon., Dec. 15, 2025, the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department's Engine 1 was dispatched on mutual aid to Cottonwood Lane in Montville for a house fire. Upon arrival, the Incident Commander requested Engine 1 to provide vertical ventilation.  Ground ladders were deployed from Engine 1, and firefighters ascended onto the snowy, icy roof to cut a vent hole that relieved smoke and superheated gases from the structure, assisting fire attack crews.  Upon completion of that task, MTFD was assigned FAST duties, followed by securing utilities and overhaul operations in the basement. MTFD was on scene for nearly two hours.
