A statement from the Mohegan Tribe on the passing of former Governor Jodi Rell

The Mohegan Tribe is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Governor Jodi Rell, a leader whose compassion and integrity left an indelible mark on the State of Connecticut.

Our Tribe's relationship extended many years with the former Governor. When she was serving as Lieutenant Governor, she was always gracious with her time to meet with us on issues of importance to our Tribe both directly, but also indirectly as a neighbor to the citizens of Connecticut. When she became Governor, her compassion and commitments only seemed to intensify. She graced our presence at Mohegan many times over the years, whether to welcome crowds, attend conferences or to simply attend a Connecticut Sun game.

May her legacy as a trailblazer and a unifying force serve as an inspiration for future generations. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all those who were touched by her kindness and dedication.
