About September
September Baraquin is a dedicated music educator with over 25 years of experience in teaching, leadership, performance, and curriculum development. Since 1999, she has taught seventh and eighth-grade music at David Wooster Middle School in Stratford, Connecticut, where she leads general music classes, directs the chorus, and oversees the Select Choir. Her work has made a lasting impact on students and the broader music education community.
She earned both her Bachelor of Science (1994) and Master of Music Education (2005) from Western Connecticut State University, with a focus on voice, and further studied opera in Graz, Austria. September has served as a TEAM mentor since 2005, supporting new teachers, and has led her department through transitions while maintaining strong programming. As a district curriculum writer since 2000, she has helped shape music education across Stratford Public Schools.
Beyond the classroom, Baraquin enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenage sons and is committed to supporting her local community. Her honors include Stratford Teacher of the Year (2026) and multiple student ensemble awards. September exemplifies excellence, leadership, and advocacy in music education.
