About Kristine
Kristine teaches kindergarten at Anna H. Rockwell School in Bethel. Over her 23 years of teaching, Kristine has evolved as a teacher leader in literacy, remaining current with instructional practices and pedagogy. Her experience working in urban and suburban settings gives her a unique perspective regarding the literacy gap facing our nation’s students. Kristine has served as a literacy lead teacher and currently serves on her district’s Science of Reading Literacy team.
Kristine’s passion for supporting emotional well-being in her students led her to become a member of her District Leadership Team in Social Emotional Learning and committee chair for her school’s RULER implementation team. Kristine’s tenure as a RULER Committee member in her prior district, resulted in Yale’s selection as a “Flagship RULER School” and the privilege of being highlighted in Yale’s RULER training videos. She is trained in RULER and Restorative Practice and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with colleagues.
Kristine resides in Trumbull with her husband, Jim, where they enjoy spending time with their daughters. Kristine earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oneonta and a M.A. degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashford University. She is also a current member of the Connecticut Reading Association.
