About Danielle
Danielle Lingo is a life-long learner who works daily to hone her craft. Her philosophy capitalizes on student voice and finding ways for everyone she meets to feel like they matter.
Teaching 8th grade at Raub Middle School in Allentown, PA, she learned that knowing her content was not nearly as important as forging relationships with her diverse students. Then, in 2001 she moved on to teach English at Saucon Valley High School in Hellertown, PA where she found her love of teaching poetry and for giving students a voice.
In 2006 Danielle moved to CT and started teaching at John Read Middle School in Redding, CT. Seventeen years later, she still enjoys the collaborative nature of “the middle”. She is co-president of the Redding Education Association, chairperson of the Sunshine Committee, grade 8 co-team leader, a member of the School Climate Committee, and more.
In 2016 she co-founded an annual poetry slam where students perform pieces of original poetry that are often raw and emotional, sometimes humorous, and always relatable. Beaming with admiration and awe, she relishes this every year.
Beyond the classroom, Danielle devotes herself to her most cherished, challenging job to date, being the mother of two amazing humans.
