About Eric
Eric Litvinoff has been active in the fields of aquaculture and education for over 20 years. After obtaining his degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology from the University of Rhode Island, he worked in the aquatic research field at Yale University and the National Institute of Health. In 2011, Litvinoff became a founding teacher of the Marine Science Magnet High School and the facility manager of the school’s 20,000-gallon aquaculture laboratory. While becoming a teacher wasn't originally on his radar, Litvinoff soon found his passion for working with young people.
Litvinoff loves working with students in the aquaculture lab because he can challenge them to think critically and solve problems in a collaborative environment. In the past 14 years, he has developed eight unique aquaculture and marine science courses, raised dozens of aquatic species, built a coral aquaculture business within the school, and presented his work at seven national conferences. He is excited about the future of aquaculture education and helping his students realize their potential while getting their hands wet.
