Mohegan Wigwam Festival 2025



The Mohegan Tribe invites everyone to join us in celebrating one of the region’s most treasured cultural traditions at this year’s Wigwam Festival held August 16 and 17 on the Mohegan Reservation at Fort Shantok.
Each year, the Mohegan Tribe celebrates its culture with Native American dancers, artisans, and families from across the country travel to participate in this family-friendly celebration of culture, heritage, and community. The two-day event features traditional Native American crafts, foods, and dance competitions, all set in a historic and welcoming outdoor setting.
The festival held at Fort Shantok, held rain or shine, is free and open to the public.
Complimentary parking is located offsite at Saint Bernard School located at 1593 Norwich-New London Turnpike in Uncasville, CT.
Complimentary shuttle service is provided with pickups and drop-offs at two locations throughout the day. All guests can park at Saint Bernard School and take the complimentary shuttle to the Wigwam Festival. For guests staying at the Mohegan Sun hotels, there will be an additional pick-up/drop-off location at the Sky Hotel lobby.
- Day 1: Sat., Aug. 16th from 10 am to 7 pm.
- Day 2: Sun., Aug. 17th from 10 am to 7 pm.
Free Parking and Shuttle Service
All general parking for the Wigwam Festival is located off-site. Complimentary shuttle service is provided with pickups and drop-offs at two locations throughout the day.
- Saint Bernard School: all guest parking. Shuttles run every 30 minutes from 9:45am to 7:00pm.
- Mohegan Sun: For guests of Mohegan Sun's hotels, shuttle service will be available from the Sky Hotel lobby each 30 minutes. Shuttle service from 9:45am to 7:00pm.


Wigwam Etiquette
- Photography and/or videotaping of the Grand Entry, Veterans Song or any Honor or Flag songs are prohibited
- Please listen to the Arena Director’s directions
- Never refer to a dancer’s regalia as a costume or touch it without asking permission
- Ask individuals permission before photographing them
- Stand during Grand Entry, if able
- Please do not sit in the areas designated for dancers, elders or that have been reserved with blankets
- Never record a drum without permission of the head singer
- This is a family-friendly event. No drugs or alcohol of any kind are permitted
- Respect everyone, non-Native and Native, esp. Elders
- Smoking is prohibited excluding designated areas
- Weapons and firearms are strictly prohibited!
