The Mohegan Tribe has two court systems, the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court and the Mohegan Tribal Court. The Tribal Court was established by the Mohegan Tribal Council,
which also established the Law and Order Code of the Tribal Constitution. The judicial powers for this court include laws related to the Tribal Constitution.
The Tribal Court has general jurisdiction for all non-gaming related cases within Mohegan boundaries. The Court consists of three levels: the trial level, the court of appeals and the Council of Elders review.
The Tribal Court consists of one judge and a chief clerk of the court/administrator. There are three Court of Appeal judges. The Elders review is the court of final review.
