Review
Cases are heard in the Trial Court by a Tribal Judge, sitting without a jury. The procedures followed in the Trial Court are set forth in the Law and Order Code, MTC § 1-51 et seq., and in the rules of procedure adopted by the Judges of the Mohegan Tribal Court.

Many Tribal Laws provide that civil actions brought thereunder shall be filed in the appropriate Mohegan Court (Gaming Disputes Court or Mohegan Tribal Court). The Mohegan Tribal Court has jurisdiction over such cases if they do not arise out of and are not related to the Gaming activities of the Tribe or any Tribal entity. In addition to hearing civil cases, the Trial Court hears cases brought under the Mohegan Tribal Motor Vehicle Code, MTC § 6-41 et seq.
