Civil actions are commenced by filing with the Clerk of the Gaming Disputes Trial Court in accordance with the specific requirements of the Mohegan Tribal Ordinance under which the case is brought. Cases are assigned to one of the four judges of the Gaming Disputes Trial Court, on a rotating basis, for all further Trial Court proceedings. The Gaming Disputes Court Rules of Civil Procedure are very similar to those followed in State Court, but have been modified to take into account any requirements of Mohegan Tribal Ordinances.
